About the ADB Scholarship:
The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program was established in April 1988 with funding from the Government of Japan. Its objective is to provide opportunities for qualified citizens of ADB developing member countries to pursue graduate studies in economics, management, science and technology and other development-related fields at participating educational institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
Scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their countries after completing the study programs.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the University of Auckland ADB Scholarship 2023-24 you must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality of the ADB borrower member. Visit ADB-Japan Scholarship Program for a list of current developing member countries.
- Have gained admission to an approved Master’s program at an approved educational institution.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a high academic record.
- At least two years of full-time professional work experience (obtained after a university degree) at the time of application.
- Oral and written communication skills in English must be able to study.
- At the time of application, the applicant’s age is under 35 years. In exceptional cases, the age limit is 45 years for programs suitable for senior executives and managers.

- After completing the program agree to return to your home country.
Ineligibility Criteria:
- Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, Management Staff and ADB, advisors and relatives of the above persons.
- Employees of JSP-enrolled institutes cannot apply to their institute.
- Applicants who live or work in a country other than the country of origin.
- Applicants who are already enrolled in graduate programs or have already completed graduate programs.
- Undergraduate Studies, Distance Education Programs, Short-Term Education, Conferences, Seminars, Thesis and Research Projects.
