MEXT ASIA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY JAPANESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP 2022

The Japan Government Scholarship 2022 Program for International Students accepts international students to offer scholarships (MEXT 2022 Japan Scholarship) for Bachelors master’s and doctoral degrees. Students from all over the world can apply for a scholarship at the University of Japan.

These scholarships are awarded to outstanding international students recommended by APU. Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) awards scholarships with the aim of increasing international competitiveness and promoting the active exchange of international students at Japanese universities.

Benefits Of MEXT Scholarship:

The Government of Japan 2022 International MEXT Scholarship, which is fully funded during your studies in Japan, is recommended to cover all tuition fees in Japan. MEXT 2022 scholarship programs have been invited from all over the world.

Expenses Which Will Cover By MEXT 2021 Program:

1. 100% of tuition
2. living expenses JPY 143,000-145,000 per month (amount subject to change)
3. Economy class Round Airfare Tickets

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates using this scholarship must meet the following criteria.

1. 1. Plans to study abroad and have a medically fit.
   2. He is not a citizen of Japan or a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan.
   3. Born on or after 2 April 1985

Academic Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Students: Must have School Diploma/Certificate.
2. Master’s Students:
   Applicants with a bachelor’s degree can apply for the master’s degree program.
3. PhD student:
   Applicants for postgraduate study are eligible to apply for doctoral programs.

Notes:

• Citizens who are active in the Army or enlisted in the Army at the time of application are not eligible for the scholarship.

• The recipient must be able to enter Japan within the time specified by the APU.

• Applicants for this scholarship will not be able to receive a MEXT scholarship in the past, unless they have more than 3 years of scientific research experience following the final payment of the previous MEXT scholarship award.

• Applicants for this scholarship cannot apply for any other MEXT scholarship.

• Recipients of this scholarship cannot receive a scholarship from any other scholarship organization while studying at APU.

• Recipients of this scholarship must be a student (visa status) residing in Japan.

1. The highest degree diploma required for an official stamp, must be uploaded to (Including Grading Points)
   1. Masters Program Applicant: Bachelor Degree (or higher)
   2. PhD Applicant: Master’s Degree (or higher)
   3. Note: If your qualification/Transcript is not in English, then required a notarized copy of the English translation.

7. Study plan / Statement of purpose
8. English Language Proficiency Document:
   1. The English proficiency test score is Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale B2 or above (e.g. TOEFL iBT 72 or higher, IELTS 5.5 or above).
9. Supervisor Confirmation Letter (for Ph.D. Students Only)
10. Academic thesis or relevant publications (for Ph.D. program applicants)
11. Other reference documents (if applicable)

Submit the APU application by November 17, 2021 (for September 2022 Enrollment).

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

• 1. Submit the APU application by November 17, 2021.
• 2.APU reviews application documents and selects outstanding candidates to recommend to MEXT
• 3. Applicants selected to be recommended for this scholarship are notified with their final APU application results
• 4. Selected applicants complete and submit additional MEXT (SGU) application documents to APU
• 5. The final scholarship award results are decided by MEXT
