The Russian government announced the International Open Door Olympiad for the fifth time. The objective of this Olympiad is to select the best minds in the world and attract them to Russia for higher education and research. The Open Doors Scholarship allows Olympiad winners to choose from one of 500 Russian universities, consisting of 5 to 100 outstanding university participants in 21 projects. This year’s Open Door Olympiad comprises 14 subjects, mostly science related.
Open-door competitions are organized by a group of leading Russian universities. The entire Olympiad for Foreign Students is a joint effort of the Federation of World Universities with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth Federal Agency for the Affairs of Independent States. In addition, Compartrots Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation are among the organizers of the Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project Association.
The Russian scholarship is open to international students for master and doctoral programs. Students with excellent academic records and leadership qualities who wish to study in Russia for free should participate in this Global Postgraduate Olympiad. Fortunately, there are 14 courses as of last year, and the new thing is that PhD students can apply to any of these courses. Last year, PhD students could apply for only 6 groups.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to apply for the Open Door Russia Scholarship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants of any nationality from anywhere in the world are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Copy of a valid passport
- Copy of degree
- Transcript
- To apply for the master’s scholarship, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution.
- To apply for the PhD scholarship, the candidate must have a master’s degree from a recognized university.
- A statement of purpose
- Proficiency in English or Proficiency in Russian.
