Ontario Graduate Scholarship At Carleton University in Canada

Applications are currently being accepted for Carleton University Ontario Scholarships to study in Canada. This scholarship program to study in Ontario is designed to recognize academic excellence in undergraduate study at the master’s and doctoral levels in all academic disciplines available at Carleton University.

The scholarship program is supported jointly by funding provided by the Province of Ontario and by funding provided by Carleton University. The province allocates two-thirds of the value of the prize and the university provides one-third. The program aims to attract graduate students to the province for research and study, which in turn will contribute to its economic growth and development.

Ontario Graduate Scholarship at Carleton University Eligibility

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, an international student
  • All students must have a 10.0 GPA (80%) in each of their last two years of full-time study
  • Must be planning to study full-time
  • Students who are in the extension period or are not currently eligible.
  • Students whose program completion date is before December 31 of the academic year in which you receive the award are not eligible to apply (please confirm your audit access with Carlton Central or your department).
  • Canadian government-backed loans cannot default
  • Government funding (CIHR, OGS, OTS, NSERC, SSHRC, QEII-GSST, Vanier CGS) cannot exceed six years.

How to Apply for Carleton University:

A – All students who have an MC1 degree and who can access Carleton Central should use the online application available through Carleton Central. If you have previously applied to Carleton but never attended, or if you have graduated and intend to return with an MCI degree, please log in to Carlton Central and submit the online form use. You must complete the online application and upload the required documents (under Rewards and Financial Aid at Carleton Central, Undergraduate Online Application Form) by the deadline. After submitting your application, your referee will be notified by email. They then have until December 1 to submit their refereeing form.

B – Other applicants must complete the OGS application form. Please click here to download and complete the form. Once completed, you should print it and include it in your OGS application packet. Applications should not be bilateral. You must complete and submit an OGS application package that includes the following (scroll down to find the form).

  1. Obtain transcripts (OGS programs require official transcripts from previous post-secondary institutions you attended.)
  2. Two references required: This application accepts a professional reference but it must match your academic qualifications.
  3. Submit your complete application. You must submit your completed application, along with all official transcripts, references and other documents, by November 15 to the graduate director of the Carleton Department to which you are applying. Sent by post from an official email address or directly to the graduate supervisor.
  4. Accept your offer (If you have a pending decision from SSHRC, NSERC or CIHR and have been successful in the OGS contest, please accept your OGS offer. If you are subsequently accepted for another external award, your Funding will be reviewed. Students who apply through Carleton Central must also be accepted there. If you have submitted a paper application, you will PRINT an OGS 2023-2024 Notice of Decision Form.
