The US Diversity 2023 Immigrant Visa Program (DV Lottery) will open soon. Under Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), the DV or Diversity Visa Lottery Program is designed to allow individuals from lesser-known countries to immigrate to the United States.

The main goal of the DV program is to diversify the immigrant population in the United States. In fact, diversity visas are issued each year to people born in a country that has accepted less than 50,000 immigrants in the United States in the family and work visa category in the past five years.

A maximum of 55,000 DVA will be available for the financial year 2023. The application process is very simple, available online via the electronic Diversity Visa Application, and there is no fee to register for the DV Lottery.

Diversity visas are divided into six geographic regions and no country can obtain more than 7% of the available DV in a year. Winners are selected by random computer design and may subsequently receive a green card to live, study or work in the United States. All applicants to the DV-2023 Diversity Visa Program must be able to obtain and obtain their visa or status by the end of fiscal year 2023 (September 30, 2023).
