Eligibility Requirements

  • Citizenship: You must be a citizen of a country other than Colombia.
  • Residence: You must not have established residence in Colombia or begun graduate studies in Colombia.
  • Scholarship history: You must not have received a scholarship from the Beca Colombia program or any other international ICETEX scholarship program.
  • Age: You must not be more than 50 years old.
  • Academics: You must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0. If your GPA is not on a 5.0 scale, it must be at least equivalent to a 4.0 on the Colombian scale. A postgraduate average cannot be used.
  • Degree: You must have an undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree in any field of study.
  • Spanish: You must be proficient in Spanish. If you are not a native Spanish speaker, you must pass a B2 level DELE or SIELE exam.
  • Acceptance: You must be accepted to a minimum of one and a maximum of three graduate programs listed in the 2020 Academic Offer Catalogue.
  • Health: You must be in good physical and mental health. You must provide a doctor’s certificate stating that you are in good health.
