Fulbright Native American Fellowship 2023 is a completely free scholarship for Australian students to pursue an undergraduate program in the United States of America. The covered costs are detailed below:
- Monthly scholarship (for scholarship award) or monthly scholarship (for postgraduate/postgraduate award) depending on the cost of living in the host institution
Round trip, economy class plane tickets directly from the researcher’s hometown and host city - Establishment allowance – if any.
- Affiliation allowance – if available.
- Health and Accident Insurance (ASPE) – up to US$100,000 (scholars only)
- Access to the professional network built – alumni and other international support groups
- Orientation and promotion opportunities – in Australia and the United States
- Extensive collaboration – with the Commission as well as with US organizations

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must be Australian citizens (by birth or nature).
- Candidates may not be dual US or Australian nationals or permanent residents of the United States (Green Card).
- Applicants must be residing in Australia at the time of application (exceptions: applicants serving in the armed forces abroad, Australian diplomats abroad) Applicants who are on leave/working at the time of application may apply.
- Candidates have not yet begun studying or researching in the United States.
- Australian applicants for this cycle, if successful, will start their program from 1 August 2023 to 31 May 2024.
- Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent at the time of application. Graduate applicants will also be eligible for the final semester of their undergraduate degree (academic status remains good). Post-doctoral candidates will also be considered if they can submit a letter from their advisor stating that they are continuing their doctoral studies before the start of the proposed program.
- Undergraduate students have not yet graduated – please upload a copy of your academic performance showing the credit score you have earned.
- Graduate applicants who apply for a degree are required to take the GRE exam required by the host institution. Successful applicants will be offered a coupon to cover the cost of the test.
- Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to submit language proficiency test results at the time of application.
